I'm so glad you're here.
For the Record began with a love for the little things worth remembering. I fell in love with wedding stationery while planning my own wedding, obsessing over texture, typography, handwritten details, and all the small choices that can tell a story without saying a word. What began as a creative outlet eventually became the work I feel incredibly lucky to do today: helping couples turn one of life's biggest chapters into something they can hold onto.
Because to me, wedding stationery is more than just paper. It's the first glimpse of the celebration to come, a reflection of the people and details that make it yours, and eventually, a keepsake of a moment you'll want to remember. I love creating pieces that feel personal and timeless, made not just for your wedding day, but for the years that follow.
I live in Chicago, near where I grew up, though my work travels far beyond the Midwest. When I'm not at my desk designing with coffee in hand, you'll probably find me with my husband, Tyler, and our daughters, Petie and Sally. We love old houses, open skies, and finding beauty in the simple things.
Sound like we'd get along? I'd love to get to know you and hear your story.
MY STORY
TELL ME MORE
TELL ME MORE
A Midwest girl at heart, I took a leap in my early twenties and moved out West. Finding my footing in a new city was exciting, but also a little scary. Between working night shifts at the hospital as a nurse and trying to build a life in a place where I didn't know many people, I found myself craving a creative outlet.
So, I began to write.
Lyrics, quotes, poems, you name it. There was something about putting pen to paper and stringing words together that felt grounding. It became my own little form of meditation. Before long, the walls of my tiny studio apartment were covered in framed pieces of my work, words I could change with my mood, my dreams, and whatever season of life I found myself in. I started sharing them on my personal Instagram, simply for fun.
Then, three years later, while stuck at home in the middle of the pandemic, I decided to take the idea a little more seriously. What had started as a quiet creative escape became a business, and eventually, For the Record.
Since then, the work has evolved, but the heart of it hasn't. I've always been drawn to the way words, details, and objects can hold meaning, to the things that mark a moment and help us remember it. Today, I get to turn that love of storytelling into wedding stationery and keepsakes designed to become part of someone's story.
And honestly, I still can't believe I get to call it my job.
